Buttock augmentation with implants

Buttock augmentation with implants

Table of contents:

A buttock augmentation has an unpleasant recovery process and requires perseverance from the patient. Due to the intra-muscular placement of the implant in the strongest muscle of your body, you will suffer from discomfort for at least 4-6 weeks.

Before your operation

  • We will provide you with the following items:
    • Painkillers—Paracetamol-codeine, diclofenac, tramadol.
    • Preventive Antibiotics—Amoxicillin 875 mg, 3 times a day, starting the day after your surgery, for 10 days.

Day after surgery

A responsible, competent adult must accompany you for 24 hours after the procedure.

Experiencing tension and pain in the buttocks or upper legs is normal. Do not make forceful movements with the buttock muscles. Try to avoid sitting on the implants! If necessary, preferably sit on a special chair or a very soft cushion. When lying down, lie on your stomach or side.

Recommendations:

  • Stretching Exercises—Gently raise yourself up onto your toes five times an hour.
  • Painkillers—The first 2-3 days will be the worst.
    • First line—Paracetamol-Codeine tablets: 1 to 2 every 4 hours, maximum 6 tablets per day
    • Second line—If you still have pain: Diclofenac 50mg: one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.
    • Third rule—If you still have pain: Tramadol 50mg: one every 4 hours, maximum 6 tablets per day.
  • Bandage—You will wear a pressure bandage for the first 24 hours or you will be given special pantyhose that must be worn for 3 weeks.
  • Preventative antibiotics—To be taken for 10 days, 3 times a day.
  • Take a warm shower every day to relax the muscles for as long as necessary.

Day 2

  • Stretching Exercises: Gently raise yourself up onto your toes five times an hour.
  • Pain Relievers—See Pain Relievers for the First Day.
  • Bandage—Compression bandage comes off. Keep the sterile bandages over the scars for 10 days, you may take warm showers (no baths!).
  • Take a warm shower every day to relax the muscles for as long as necessary.

Day 3

  • Stretching Exercises: Gently raise yourself up onto your toes five times an hour.
  • Painkillers—Gradual change to paracetamol without codeine, stop using Tramadol if pain allows.
  • Take a warm shower every day to relax the muscles for as long as necessary.
  • Gradually resume all activities that are not painful.
  • Avoid vigorous gluteal movements, such as long walks.
  • Get enough rest.

Day 4 and beyond

  • Stop the stretching exercises
  • Painkillers—Gradually discontinue all painkillers.
  • Take a warm shower every day to relax the muscles for as long as necessary.

Day 10

  • Bandages—Remove the bandages from around the scar.
  • Micropore—Replace the micropore tape over the scars to prevent them from widening.
  • The stitches will be absorbed by themselves.
  • Gently massage the buttocks and body with a moisturizer, not the scar itself.

After this

  • Return to normal activity—After 6 weeks.
  • Return to Sports—After 8 Weeks.
  • Solarium—Allowed after six weeks, always use sunscreen on the scar area.
  • If possible, see your surgeon for a check-up after 10 days, 6 weeks, 6 months and every 5 years thereafter.
