For use

  • You will receive the following medication:
    • Dafalgan-Codeine—Every 4 hours for pain, maximum 6 hours per day.

    • Preventive Antibiotics—Amoxicillin 875 mg, 3 per day, starting the day after your operation, for 5 days.

Main instructions

  • Avoid Pressure—After the procedure, it is imperative to avoid pressure on the lipofilling treated areas. This will allow for maximum survival of the fat cells. If you have had lipopantyhose, it will be adjusted to take this into account. After a buttock or hip augmentation, try to sleep on your stomach as much as possible. When sitting, try to If you have had gluteal or hip lipofilling, try to sleep on your stomach as much as possible. When sitting, try to use a saddle chair or swim tube to relieve pressure. If you have had breast lipofilling, do not wear a bra or tight t-shirts and try to sleep on your back or side.
  • Pressure on the liposuction areas—Conversely, compression garments are indicated for applying pressure to the liposuction areas. The pantyhose should be worn day and night for 6 weeks, and especially during the first 10 days, without interruption. After 10 days, you can quickly remove the pantyhose (30 min.) to shower, while someone else washes the pantyhose by hand and dries it with a hair dryer. You can then put the pantyhose back on. Make sure that the skin unfolds under the pantyhose (so that no folds form). The pressure bandage should be worn around the flanks for 3 weeks. If liposuction is performed on the legs, the liposculpture pantyhose is worn for 6 weeks.

The day of the operation

  • Stay in bed the first night—If you have had very extensive liposuction, you may feel lightheaded and nauseous for 24-36 hours. For this reason, we recommend staying in our guesthouse. We will try to keep you in bed as much as possible to prevent accidents (fainting). Some extra fluids may be administered through the IV to help you recover. In rare cases, a urinary catheter may be placed for safety reasons.
  • Drinking—You can have something to drink 2 hours after the procedure. If you do not experience nausea after this, you may drink more. It is important to drink at least 1 liter of fluid during this day. This can be coca-cola, tea with sugar, soup, etc. It is best to avoid coffee or alcohol. Carbonated drinks can cause the stomach to swell, which can make the pressure garment feel very uncomfortable.
  • Food—If drinking is going well, you can eat yogurt. If yogurt is going well, you can eat bread. The first 10 days you can eat protein-rich food, this will speed up your recovery. After lipofilling, dark chocolate is recommended for the first three days.
  • Pain relief—If needed, you may take pain medication (see instructions above).
  • Legs Elevated—Try to elevate your legs as much as possible after leg liposuction. They are particularly susceptible to fluid retention. Sometimes lymphatic drainage with a physical therapist can help relieve fluid in your legs.

The day after your operation

  • Remove the absorbent compresses—You will lose a lot of fluid during the first 24 hours. The fluid may contain some blood. This is usually wound fluid or irrigation fluid with some drops of blood, so don’t panic. After 24 hours you can remove the absorbent compresses, but leave the bandage underneath. Put the lipopanty back on, making sure the skin under the lipopanty is not wrinkled.
  • Exercise—You will feel bruised the day after surgery. Try to move around a little and walk around. Sports that do not cause shocks or extreme movements are allowed after a week (walking, biking, etc.).
  • Legs Elevated—Try to elevate your legs as much as possible after leg liposuction. They are particularly susceptible to fluid retention. Sometimes lymphatic drainage with a physical therapist can help relieve fluid in your legs.
  • Sun/Tanning—Try not to sunbathe for the first two months unless you wear sunscreen.
  • Temperature—If you have a fever (over 38,5°C) or if your pain increases, contact your doctor.
