Your FFS will take place on Tuesday or Thursday

  • In case your FFS takes place on Thursday, you are expected in our clinic on Wednesday around noon.

Most FFS patients stay in hospital for a whole week the guest house from our clinic so that they can recover in a safe and calm environment.

The day before your operation

Welcome! We expect you in our clinic the day before your operation around noon. You can easily reach 2pass Clinic!

Our patient coordinator will welcome you, give you a tour of our guest house and escort you to your room. There you can settle in for the coming week. You can chat with the other patients, meet our permanent resident Petra, relax and unwind.

Around 12.00:XNUMX you will have your preoperative consultation with Dr. Bart van de Ven. Please note that this consultation is required by law. You can talk about the different procedures one last time, preoperative photos will be taken, some administrative documents will be filled in and you will receive your postoperative medication and ice packs.

If you need a CT scan of the neck because you are going to have an Adam's apple reduction, this will be done the same day. Instructions will follow.

Make sure that at least one finger or toenail is free of nail polish for the surgery the next day. This is necessary to measure your oxygen saturation correctly.

Operation day

  • On the day of your surgery you must fast for at least 8 hours before the surgery. So no food, no liquids (not even water).
  • If you wear contact lenses, you should remove them before surgery. You may not be able to wear them for a while after surgery because of swelling.
  • When the time of your operation arrives, your patient coordinator or one of the nurses will accompany you to the operating room.
  • You will spend the night in the hospital.

The rest of your stay in our Guesthouse

The first morning after the operation, the morning nurse will help you shower and check and change the dressings. The Doctors' team will visit you in the morning.

These tests are NOT included in the price, with the exception of the CT scan for an Adam's apple reduction. All these tests must be arranged by you in your own country. Your GP can help you with this. The results must be uploaded to your account on our patient platform. Blood tests and ECGs may not be older than 3 months. They are extremely important because the anaesthetist cannot administer general anaesthesia without this anaesthetic.
